Sustainability

The planet doesn't care whether it's 1, 2, or 5 degrees warmer, but for humanity, animals, and plants, this is crucial. Consuming nothing would be environmentally friendly. No art on the wall, no greeting card for loved ones. But then life would be pretty gray.

My approach is to consume in the most environmentally friendly way possible. This starts with me as an artist; I consciously choose the materials for my products (cotton instead of plastic for clothing, recycled paper instead of paper made from virgin wood fiber). I also ensure that producers operate as environmentally friendly as possible. (My printing company uses water-based inks, the sewing department for the T-shirts produces new fabrics from fabric scraps, and some products are only produced to order.) But you, as a consumer, should also consume in the most environmentally friendly way possible:

• Look for high-quality products that you will enjoy for a long time
• Only buy the products you need (especially cheap is not a reason to buy)
• Also ensure that manufacturers use environmentally friendly and ethical production methods
